чому Безодня? Спочатку це був мій образ депресії. Чорна, густа субстанція, ніби мазут, яка затягує все до чого може торкнутися. В неї неможливо дихати, вона назавжди залишається з тими кого затягнула всередину себе; різніця тільки у тому, наскільки глибоко.

Безодня - це первинна речовина, з якої створився світ. Вона була статична, нейтральна, часу в неї не існувало. Не було життя, не було смерті, не було кольорів. Вона не була "чорною", вона була ніяка. Однак безкінечно подовжуватися так не могло. "Десь" всередині неї замість звичних реакцій трапилося порушення системи. Ця маленька деталь стала початком створення нових речовин.

Чим більше реакцій - тим більше різноманітності. Різноманітність - це ворог статичності, ворог ідеальної системи, тож багато з них будуть знищені Безоднею. Але в порівнянні з нею вони розвили адаптивність, і з кожним колом реакцій були все менш і менш схожі на Безодню.

В результаті створилася Оболонка, яка ізолює їх всередині себе і захищає від знищення Безоднею. Безодня більше не могла потрапити туди, але встигли це зробити речовини, схожі на неї за механізмом дії. Їхня адаптивність майже нульова, але цього вистачило. Вони існують там і зараз, вони є всюди, але не можуть активно впливати на інше, однак також поаільно адаптуються. Їх називають Вторинною Безодєю.

З моменту створення простору існує також і час. Тепер швидкість реакцій підвищена настільки, що матерія безкінечно видозмінюється, створюються нові речовини, знищують одна одну або зникають. З часом з'явилося багато автономних систем, спочатку великі, потім все менше і менше. Одною з них стала маленька, але складна система - життя.

Why the "Abyss"? It was my image of depression. Black, thick substance, like fuel oil, that sucks in everything it can reach. It is impossible to breathe within, thus, it remains forever in those it has drawn in; the only difference is how deep.

The Abyss is the primary substance from which the world was created. It was static, neutral, time did not exist. There was no life, nor death, nor color ─ It wasn't "black," but just... nothing.

But it couldn't last forever. "Somewhere" inside, instead of the usual reactions, has happened a system's disturbance. This small detail became the beginning of the creation of new substances. The more reactions, the more diversity, and dversity is the enemy of the state the static, ideal system. Many of such materials were destroyed by the Abyss, but compared to It, they developed adaptability, and with each turn of reactions they grew less and less similar to the Abyss.

As a result, the Membrane was formed, it isolates new materials inside and protects them from destruction by the Abyss. The Abyss was no longer able to get through, but substances similar to it by their mechanism of action managed to do so. Their adaptability is nearly zero, but enough to exist. They do exist here and now; everywhere, but unable to actively affect everything else, yet, they're slowly adapting. They are known as the "Secondary Abyss".

Since the creation of the space, time also exists. Now the speed of reactions has been increased to the point that matter is constantly transforming, and new substances destroying one another, disappearing and appearing again. Eventually, multiple independently existing systems appeared: at first large, and then smaller and smaller. One of these became a small yet complex system - the life itself.
